Steal Fish Eggs How to Hatch Fish Eggs

Bank the egg, wait the timer, and only keep hatches that beat your weakest income fish.

How to Hatch Fish

Hatching is how a stolen egg becomes a paycheck. The official loop is steal fish eggs, hatch them, collect rare fish, earn money. If you drop the egg on the swim home, there is nothing to hatch. If you hatch and keep a worse fish than you already have, you wasted a successful steal. This page is the deposit-to-income half of the game. Pair it with how to steal eggs and the fish index.

Place the egg

Reach the safe zone with the egg still in hand. Interact with a free hatch slot on your tank. If every slot is full, you must decide before the next steal: which fish is actually paying? Beginners treat the tank like a collection. Veterans treat it like a spreadsheet. The best fish page is the spreadsheet.

Do not leave a carried egg sitting in your hands while you AFK the endless pool. A player steal during that window is free money for them. Bank first, train second, unless you already have a lock plan from how to protect your base.

Timers

Hatch time is not one number. Official promotional art shows a rainbow egg with a 5s clock next to it, then a reveal into a rainbow shark tagged 0.01%. That shot is advertising a rare mutation outcome, not promising every egg hatches in five seconds. Common eggs in this genre pop fast. Rare, huge, or mutated eggs can take much longer. Stay in the server if the timer is long — hopping mid-hatch is a good way to confuse yourself about what finished.

Use long timers as pool time. Swim laps, buy the next Trail if you can, and be back at the tank when the egg is due so nobody snatches the new fish during the place animation.

Sizes and mutations

The game description calls out rarer fish eggs, fish, sizes, and mutations. Read the egg before you steal it when the world tag is visible. A rainbow or oddly large egg is usually the mutation lottery. The 0.01% rainbow shark is the fantasy outcome. Most hatches will be ordinary fish that still beat your starter slots.

Rules of thumb:

  • Size often changes carry difficulty and maybe income. If a huge egg made the chase worse, you needed more Speed, not a different opinion about the nest.
  • Mutation is extra income or extra flex. Do not rebuild your whole tank around one lucky rainbow if the base fish is still mid.
  • Income tag on the egg (like the Jellyfish Egg’s $89,121Sp/s) is the number that matters. Compare it to your weakest fish before you celebrate.

We will not invent a fake mutation list with made-up multipliers. When Kaiju Outbreak Official publishes index numbers, they go on the fish tier list. Until then, trust in-game tags over a random Discord screenshot.

Keep, replace, or sell

After hatch:

  1. Read income per second.
  2. If it beats your worst fish, it stays.
  3. If it does not, it is fuel — sell or overwrite according to whatever the live UI offers.
  4. If it is a mutation of a weak species, still compare the final income, not the paint job.

Cash from a sell should go to Speed: pool upgrade or the next Trail. A pretty tank that cannot outrun the shark is a museum, not a tycoon.

After the 13 September fish drop

The September 13 update adds more fish and a new biome. New eggs will have new hatch times and new income. When that patch lands, hatch one of each new common before you tunnel on the rarest nest. Index completion rewards, if they exist, are usually Speed or cash — both help more than a single failed legendary swim. Track names on the fish index as they are confirmed in-game, not as rumors.

Hatch checklist

  • Egg actually deposited, not still in hand.
  • Slot chosen by income, not by color.
  • Timer used for Speed training.
  • New fish compared to best fish.
  • Tank watched until the fish is placed, because other players steal fish, not just eggs.

If you came here from Getting Started, go steal a second nearby egg next. If you came here because a rainbow failed to appear, that is normal. Farm the nests you can clear. Lottery eggs are a spice, not a meal.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Steal Fish Eggs questions.

How do you hatch eggs in Steal Fish Eggs?

Bring the egg to your tank in the safe zone, place it in a hatch slot, wait out the timer, then keep the fish if it beats your weakest income.

Why did my egg take longer than 5 seconds?

Five seconds is a promo example. Rarer, larger, or mutated eggs can take longer. Stay in the server until it finishes.

What does 0.01% on the rainbow shark mean?

Official art advertises a tiny-chance mutated hatch. Treat it as luck, not a farm you can force on Grey Trail.

Should I hatch while AFK in the pool?

Train during the timer, but do not leave the tank undefended. Other players can steal fish. See how to protect your base.
